Alternatively we may refuse to comply with your request in such circumstances.
  7. Retention and Destruction of your Personal Information

    1. Any personal information held by us in relation to any of the purposes described in this Privacy and Cookies Policy will be retained by us for as long as we need it to fulfil the purpose(s) for which it was collected. Further details of our specific retention periods are available on request via the contact details given in section 11 below.

  8. Cookies and other tracking technologies

      1. Our website uses “cookies” and tracking technologies to ensure that you receive the best possible visitor experience. Cookies are small files which are sent by a web server to an individual’s computer which are then stored on that computer’s hard drive. A cookie contains text, and is like an identification card which can only be translated by the server it originated from.
      2. Cookies cannot tell us information such as your email address, which we can only collect where you tell us, for example if you subscribe to our mailing list. However, we may (where we have appropriate consent) use them to send focused online banner advertisements or similar promotional content.
      3. Our website uses the following cookies and tracking technologies for the following purposes (further details about each cookie can be accessed by clicking the relevant underlined link in the tables below):
      4. In addition to the performance cookies mentioned above, our marketing emails will (where you provide us with consent in relation to performance cookies and tracking technologies) each include an email tracking pixel which will track when the recipient of the email has opened the email (if the recipient has images enabled in their email client/mailbox). This mechanism is consistent with the standard approach in the e-commerce industry for measuring email ‘open and click’ rates, and is used by a wide range of other email platforms in the market.

Our marketing emails (which are circulated via our supplier Ometria (https://ometria.com/)) include links which are proxied through a link redirection service that records data for each link that the recipient clicks. Such data may include:

        ● Event type (e.g. delivery, bounce, open, click, spam complaint, unsubscribe)

        ● Email address of the recipient (which we already know as we sent the email)

        ● IP address of the recipient (in the case of ‘open and click’)

        ● GEO location based on IP address (city level) (in the case of ‘open and click’) ● Device type (mobile/computer/tablet) and browser (e.g. Firefox/Chrome/Safari)

Ometria marketing email interaction data will, as part of Ometria’s related service to us, be accessed by Ometria for data audit and analysis purposes. Such marketing interaction data will be held by us for a long as Piglet uses Ometria’s related platform information (save that it can be anonymised upon request by an individual customer using the contact details mentioned in section 4 above.

In the event that you provide us with consent in relation to performance cookies and tracking technologies, you will be consenting to our use of such email tracking pixels in marketing emails that we send to you.
    1. Most internet browsers allow you to prevent cookies being stored on your computer. Alternatively you may be able to configure your browser to accept all cookies or to notify you when a cookie is offered by our server. You may also be able to delete all cookies currently stored on your web browser.
    2. The cookies detailed in section 8.3 above will (save for any such cookies which are identified as ‘strictly necessary’) only be used where you have given consent to their use, and you may withdraw your consent at any time to such cookies by altering your cookies preferences accordingly in the cookie settings area of our website.
    3. As mentioned above, some parts of our website require certain ‘strictly necessary’ cookies to be enabled in order to function correctly (which we use as necessary for our legitimate interests in ensuring that our website functions correctly). Therefore unless you change your browser settings you will automatically accept such cookies from our website.
    4. We may also collect information about where you are on the Internet (e.g. the URL you came from, IP address, and domain types like .co.uk and .com), your browser type, the country where your computer is located, the pages of our website that were viewed during your visit, the date and time of your visit to our website and any search terms that you entered on our website. We may collect this information even if you do not place an order or subscribe to our mailing list, and will use it for our legitimate interests in administering and improving our website, for internal operations (including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes) and as part of our efforts to keep our website safe and secure. All such information is collected on an aggregated basis and will not be associated with you as an individual.
    5. We do not use cookies to market or promote the interests of any third party.
    6. For further information about cookies and how they are used, please visit www.aboutcookies.org.
  9. How will you know if we make any changes to this Privacy and Cookies Policy?

We may amend this Privacy and Cookies Policy from time to time. You are bound by any changes we make to this Privacy and Cookies Policy with effect from the date of the change. If we make any substantial changes to the way in which we use your personal information we will notify you by posting a notice on our website's homepage. You can view the current version of our Privacy and Cookies Policy at any time by clicking on the Privacy and Cookies Policy link on our website's homepage.

  10. What about third party websites that you can access via our website?

    1. Our website contains links to other websites which are outside our control and are not covered by this Privacy and Cookies Policy. If you access other websites using the links provided, the operators of those websites will be the controller of any information that you provide to them and will assume corresponding responsibilities under applicable data protection legislation. Such information will be subject to the relevant third party’s privacy policy, which you should read. We are not liable for the privacy policies or practices of such third parties in respect of your personal information.
    2. You acknowledge that any information that you post using our social media facilities (such as Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest) will be viewable by anybody who visits those websites and that such information is also subject to the relevant provider’s privacy policy. You are advised to consult each such privacy policy to see how they will use your data.
    3. You acknowledge that any content that you post using our social media facilities will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary, and that we have the right to monitor, remove, use, copy, distribute and disclose to third parties any such content for any purpose permitted by law.
    4.
