Our colourful towel collection is now here! If you’re confused about “towel-terminology”, have questions about how we source our collection or want to know how to care for your fluffy new towels, then we hope to have the answers below!
What sizes do your towels come in?
Our towels come in four different sizes, with the bath sheet being the biggest. Think full-body towel envelopment and you’ll get the gist! We also provide bath mats, which are thicker and heavier and can handle being underfoot. The measurements for our towels are below:
Bath sheet: 100cm x 150cm
Bath towel: 70cm x 130cm
Hand towel: 50cm x 90cm
Face Towel: 33 x 33 cm
Bath Mat: 60cm x 90 cm
What does “zero-twist” mean?
You might have seen us mention (a lot!) that all our towels are “zero-twist” and that’s because it makes a huge difference to the quality of the towel.
“Zero Twist” means that the yarn didn’t have to be twisted in the production process, which is only possible with high quality cotton fibres. The result of zero twist towels are plush, soft, luxurious feeling towels with high absorbency.
What does “GSM” mean?
“GSM” stands for the number of cotton grams per square meter. The higher the GSM, the softer and more absorbent the towel will be. Our bath mats are 750 gsm and our towels are 500 gsm.
What material are your towels made of?
Our towels are made from cotton. All of the cotton in our towels is sourced in partnership with the Better Cotton Initiative. Better Cotton is the world’s largest cotton sustainability programme with the aim of helping cotton communities thrive while protecting and restoring the environment. For more information, please visit https://bettercotton.org/
You will notice that our towels also feature a stripe on each end for embellishment purposes. This stripe is made from recycled polyester and certified GRS (Global Recycled Standards).
Where are your towels made?
All our towels are made in Portugal in a facility accredited to OEKO-Tex Standard 100 and with a BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) high rating of A.
What does “OEKO-Tex Standard 100 certified” mean? The Standard 100 is the most well-known and trusted certification for product safety. Products carrying that certification mean that they are free from high levels of over 100 known harmful chemicals and substances. It guarantees that the textiles you wear or sleep in are safe.
How do I care for my towels?
- We recommend washing and drying your towels before using them for the first time. This will remove any softeners that might remain on the towel from the finishing process, which can hinder absorbency.
- Machine wash at 40 degrees Celsius with your chosen detergent.
- Avoid fabric softeners as they can reduce the absorbency of the towels.
- Towels can be tumble dried or air dried.
- Avoid bleach as this will lead to discolouration.
- Treat stains quickly with a targeted stain remover followed by a wash in the washing machine.
- Always store in a dry location.
