“ One of the aspects of living in America that I’ve loved the most since moving here is how fully the holidays are embraced. From Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and even St Patrick’s Day, each holiday is seen as an opportunity to celebrate and to bring some rhythm to the year. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the home, where little seasonal changes and additions to the décor mark the passing of time, celebrate traditions and serve as a reminder to be thankful for another year."
“ With Holiday season around the corner, there’s no better time to start celebrating with your loved ones and reflecting on what you're truly thankful for. For us that means laying a special table, preparing dishes we love and spending this festive season with our friends & family!
We love layering our tables with a beautiful linen; Piglet has a delicious Oatmeal that we think creates such a rustic and warm vibe. Placemats are a lovely way to introduce texture to your table, hand painted plates for a fun touch (we can’t get enough of Themis Z Serentity Collection), foliage in bud vases for seasonal colours and lots of candles, but the love & laughter around the table, we think, creates the real warmth! “ I love to set a beautiful table with what I like to call an "edible runner." Take some seasonal produce like pomegranates, persimmons, little squash, quince, pears, and apples and dot it across the table with some green branches and candles. It's the perfect tablescape and really simple to put together.
Delegate! If you have a friend or family who makes a great pie, cheese board, or can pick up some wine - let them! You don't need to do every single thing and it will allow you to enjoy your own dinner instead of being tied up in the kitchen all day.
- Get a good playlist going to set the mood - I love a little Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
